The first thing you need to know is whether your car is 2 wheel drive (2WD), 4 wheel drive (4WD), or all wheel drive. 2WD drive cars can be front or rear wheel drive and definitely will be towed safely by keeping the drive wheels started. If this is not possible, then automobile or truck should be towed by a flatbed tow truck or by placing tow dollies under the disabled vehicle in order to keep the drive wheels above the ground.
